Bunmahon Beach

Bunmahon or “Bun Machan” (“the end of the Mahon”), is a river which runs from the Comeragh Mountains, and lies at the heart of the Copper Coast European Geopark. This is one of the copper coast’s unchanged areas. The local beach is popular with holidaymakers, and surfers use it all year round. It also has its own surfing school which runs during the summer months. To the west of the beach lies a fantastic cliff range where you can witness the beauty of Waterford’s coastline and gain a unique perspective of the coast looking toward Tankardstown toward Tramore. A beautiful beach to relax and to swim – Bunmahon also offers a playground for the kids. Don’t forget to visit the Geopark while you are at Bunmahon!
